The Strike or Break is main part while playing game. Break or Strike is taken after taking permission from umpire. Break or strike is your first turn in which you spread the coin bunch. When you are playing single game you must take reverse strike or circular strike. The said strike make your coin more easy and make opponent coins difficult as they are o your base frames. The strike should taken by hitting appropriate force and angle so that your coin will not become difficult and you can pocket each coin easily. In good strike, you can pocket 4 carromen easily if stroke is proper.
REVERSE STRIKE
In 'REVERSE STRIKE' striker first hits on opposite frame and then on bunch of coins. The striker must hit on the red marks alloted below to pocket coins and to make your coins easily + opponent coins difficult. This is mostly used by chamipons and non champions in singles event. But also can used in doubles if u know that your partener is weak. See below

CIRCULAR STRIKE

The 'CIRCULAR STRIKE' is also forceful and sucessful strike. If strike in proper area then you will get lot of your coins open. In this strike the striker circles first on left frame and then on opposite frame and on bunch of coins or vice versa. Three to 4 coins goes inside pocket if strike is forceful and you get lots of coins to pocket. To make this strike proper keep your striker in centre of base lines hit on side frame ......know you thought where to hit. Hit on that area straight to right circle of your side base lines and you will find that strike is sucessful.
STRAIGHT STRIKE
In Double, You should hit directly on coin i.e 'STRAIGHT STRIKE', so that your partener can pocket coin with ease in next chance. if proper hitten then you can pocket upto six carromen in a strike(Record of srilankan). YOu should know your opponent weak points and strike according to it.
From Left Side From Right Side
This is strike which are done by begginors personalities who dont know how to play carrom or begginors, some foolish personalities or overconfident personalities because this strike dont have exact area of striking as above strikes have surity of good strike with opportunity of putting lot of coins. But here if in strike a coin enters in pocket that coin is called "DARHA"(in hindi we say 'tukae sae chalee gayee') and this type of strike called 'DARHA STRIKE'. These type of strikes can also be sucessful if you got some coins easy but no surity thats why called 'DARHA STRIKE'. to perfect in this strike Hit any where in bunch of coin but not on above said points.
